Iftar for the First Nine Days of Zul-hijjah 1435H

Iftar for the First Nine Days of Zul-hijjah 1435H

The month of Zul-hijjah is indeed a month of tremendous virtues and blessings. The first ten days of this month are especially significant and are among the most magnificent days in the Islamic calendar.

The Prophet said:

"'There is no day wherein any good action is more beloved to Allah Ta'ala than these ten days (the first ten days of Zul-hijjah)'. The Sahaabah (radhiyallahu anhum) enquired, 'not even Jihaad in the path of Allah ?'. 'Not even Jihaad in the path of Allah,' replied Rasulullah(sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) , 'with the exception of that person who left with his life and wealth (in the path of Allah) and did not return with any of it (i.e. he is martyred).'" (Bukhari, Tabraani)

One of good deeds in this time that is encouraged to do is fasting in the first nine days of Zul-hijjah. Therefore, Cranfield Islamic Society provide iftar for the first nine days of Zul-hijjah this year (1435H), which insha-Allah would be started on Thursday, 25th of September 2014.

All Muslims and their friends are invited to come!
